When two dumb-asses meet:

And did she really say “You wanna fuck”?

Maybe it was “talk”. I dunno. But YEESH. Zipper merge, people.

if he wasn’t so aggressive on his brake check it would have been all her. I definitely caused the accident but she was the superior d-bag.

pretty sure she just continues to hit him, maybe she thought he wanted to play bumpercars

Did he brake check? Maybe I wasn’t paying attention (watching while at work), but it looked to me like he zipper merged and she just spaced out and rear ended him (and then drove off instead of swapping info).

He brake-checked pretty hard.

Strictly speaking, the camera car had the right-of-way, correct? Still would have been a good idea to let the VW in, even though he blackened out his turn signals so they work less.

Correct.

Turn signals (no matter how blacked out) do not give you right of way. But usually its common courtesy at a lane closure or ending to practice a zipper merge to keep traffic flowing.

Oh, wow, what a thing for me to miss! Just rewatched it. The first time I skipped ahead and hit play just AFTER the brake check, so I just saw her love tap his bumper a few times.

i’m pretty sure he did. all of a sudden his car comes to an abrupt stop and it didn;t seem to relate to the car infront of him.

Some states actually require zipper merging, but I don’t think California’s one of them. It’s just a nice idea that’s forgotten immediately after driver’s ed.

They tried to enforce it here in Milwaukee during some construction, but most people are like “Zipper what? Oh look an open lane I’ll just speed down and try to squeeze in at the last second just like I always do!”

Yeah, I skipped ahead too far the first time and just saw her love tapping his car. Watched it again and am now trying to fathom what he was trying to accomplish???

Isn’t that sort of how mandatory zipper merging is supposed to work, though?

In Michigan, that guy taking the open lane would be infringing on others’ right-of-way, as well as the entire concept of waiting your turn in line. But in states like Minnesota, don’t they require you to use the emptiest/most efficient lane of travel to shorten the length of the back-up, and wait until the merge-point to make a single-file line?

Not when there’s a que of cars already merging... I didn’t mean open as “open” I guess. There’s always that one or 12 asshats that’ll ride the ass of the last car properly zipper merging from the closing lane to try and squeeze into a spot thats barely there, causing the other lane to come to a near complete stop.
